--- About NIDAN
Built on the conviction that diagnosis
precedes reform.
NIDAN — Network for Institutional Dialogue and Analysis of Norms is an independent research and publication platform focused on law, public policy and governance. We are not a general commentary site. We are a diagnostic institution.
Why NIDAN exists.
India's legal discourse is rich with commentary, analysis, and opinion. What it lacks is rigorous root cause research work that goes beyond describing what courts decided or what Parliament passed, and instead asks: why do institutions fail to deliver what the law promises?
NIDAN was founded in April 2026 to fill that gap. We are independent of commercial influence, free from institutional pressure, and committed to a single standard: publication-quality research that would be taken seriously.
We are building this standard from day one by being selective, rigorous, and uncompromising about what we publish.
Our Core Values
Intellectual Rigour
No commercial sponsors. No institutional affiliations that compromise our editorial judgement.
Independence
Every publication must demonstrate original analysis, proper citation discipline, and clear argumentation.
Policy Impact
Research must translate into actionable recommendations. We write for institutions, not just for academics.
Emerging Scholars
We believe the best legal research in India's next decade will come from NLU scholars given the right editorial structure.
